On Sunday, Marie traveled to Cologne for a week to attend ESL Cologne Major, DevCom and later GamesCom.
Event recap
ESL Cologne was a great time to hang out with friends and watch some good ol’ Counter-Strike, the game that Marie started her gaming and hosting career with twenty years ago.
At Devcom, Marie stage hosted 🎤 the European Game Night. The competition as an official invite-only events inside the DevCom halls where the invitees got to listen to ten ambitious devteams pitch their games. Marie then called up the jury onstage and together crowned Europe’s very best game pitch. Marie had a great time and sends her thanks to everyone who came, everyone who pitched, the jury and SpielFabrique for the partnership to host the gala, to much success!
Meetings & follow-ups
Having been incredibly busy leading up to the event, Marie didn’t have the opportunity to pre-book meetings and on paper, her schedule was fairly light. That quickly changed, however – thanks to her very wide network in games after having worked in Montreal, Vancouver, California, UK, Berlin and Stockholm, the time quickly filled up and she was never alone for more than 3 minutes. She also ran into several teams that she has been coaching through the years, and much enjoyed seeing their progress.
Marie is now home again, starting to sort all follow-ups. If you connected with Marie during the event, please keep patient as she is working through her notes, and slowly getting back to people. If you spoke about her Masterclass, however, don’t wait – check out the Masterclass page to sign up for the new class that starts in a couple of weeks!
All-in-all, this week was a true pleasure and major success for Marie. See you next year, Cologne!
